Problems with Background

Since updating to iOS 8.1.2, I have lost the background color in all themes on my iPhone and iPad. The theme colors still show up in the headers but the reading backgrounds are all white.

I've tried re-installing but it didn't help.

Its working again after uninstalling, restarting the phone, and reinstalling.

Not sure what caused it, but it happened on both the iphone and ipad. The background would appear in landscape mode and disappear in portrait. It also affected Gerty.
