Literary fiction, the ‘worthy’ writing we dread to read-the genre of elegant despair
Interesting article for all aspiring indie novelists.
Full quote: http://ruthlesstruthdotcom.blogspot....tertained.html Even literary fiction, the ‘worthy’ writing we all dread to read, was brilliantly characterised by Nicolas Mosley as just one more genre - the genre of elegant despair. |

Oh an I think there is a vast range and spectrum of fiction from comics to popular to literary to impenetrable.
I recently picked up "The Round House" which was touted as literary fiction. Now admittedly I've only read the first chapter but it's amazingly well written, interesting and absorbing.... YMMV |
