I have the second one, and it works great. The keyboard also snaps over the Nexus 7 screen when you transport them together, which is a LOT less bulky than a case.
I use it with External Keyboard Helper Pro, which you can find here in the Play Store. The external keyboard helper APK stops the on screen keyboard from popping up when you have the external keyboard linked to the Nexus with Bluetooth. It also automates the Bluetooth connection and allows you to remap keys if necessary for your use.

I have similar ones to the second one, (one for my Samsung Note 8, and one for the ipad mini). The only issue I have with the design is the snap tab right in front of the space bar - I keep hitting my thumb on it instead of the space. Otherwise, they work great.
