Best book cover for Aura HD books?

I uploaded a couple of hundred books on my Aura HD and noticed that there are a handful where the cover is tiny. So my question is, which cover (generated by Calibre) is the best fit for the Aura HD? Google, Amazon or Open Library? |

Rather than do that through Calibre, I prefer to Google book cover images myself. That way I can hand pick one of the appropriate dimensions and quality, download it and tell Calibre to use it via Edit Metadata > Change cover > Browse. Doing it that way, I was able to replace the covers of all my Iain M Banks books with the same style of cover. Also I was able to substitute all the Harry Potter covers with the rather classy looking "adult" versions. |

Some publishers have high resolution covers available for download on their website. The Tor/Forge website for example. I like to use the publiaher's cover if possible, as the Amazon/Google covers have often been resized with a different aspect ratio to the original. In Calibre I have the following tweak set: Code: maximum_cover_size = (758, 1024) |

Sorry, I didn't answer the original Q. Of the Calibre sources for covers, I have found the best in terms of quality is Edelweiss, if they have one (but often they don't).

Thank you, meson and GeoffR. GeoffR, how is that tweak done on Calibre? I can't seem to find where or how it's done? Mind giving me the steps? Regards Taike |
