I'm trying to download Calibre to my kindle fire so I can use other book clubs other than Amazon. Is there a trick to doing this. Does Kindle run on Linix, Windows or other?

Good Morning everyone, I'm Michael (Drmike). I love science fiction, fantasy, in all honesty, almost any fiction will do except romance novels. Just got the Kindle Fire for Christmas and trying to find other book sources besides Amazon's monopoly on the device and their outrageous prices :-))).
