PRS-T1 Reader frozen -- won't turn on or charge

My PRS-T1 is frozen -- I've tried every reset, and I've also tried to charge it using both USB and AC. When it's plugged into the AC adaptor, the red light comes on for a while and then goes off. No lights come on when I press the power button. When it's plugged into a computer, the screen doesn't change and the drive doesn't register.

I've tried to contact Sony tech support with little help, so I'm hoping someone here might know something. I've only had it three months and have been pretty happy with it, so I'm really hoping it's not dead for good.

The screen won't change until the device is reset. That is how eink works.

You say you've tried to charge it via AC. You didn't mention how long, but I would suggest 4 hours or overnight. Then try resetting again.

Thanks for the reply. I left in plugged into the AC charger overnight, and there's no change this morning. The charging light turns off after some time but comes back on if I unplug it and plug it back in.

One other thing that I've noticed: when I tried to reset it the first few times, the red light would blink a few times (and then nothing would happen). Now no lights come on when I try to reset it.

Did you try to bring the reader to a complete halt, as described here in step 1. Maybe your reader is stuck in some sort of loop, you have to get out of first, before you can actually boot it.

I tried the steps there without success. I finally got somewhere w/ Sony support though, and they're sending me a replacement.

Maybe your reader is stuck in some sort of loop, you have to get out of first, before you can actually boot it.
