Quick question if I may.
I am trying to add series metadata to some .mobi ebooks but am having trouble getting calibre to remember the changes I make. I (eventually) figured out that after editing the metadata you need to reconvert the ebook to make the changes stick but then it gets a bit confusing. After reconverting (.mobi to .mobi) I am trying to save the files to disc. This gives me two new files. a .mobi and a .original_mobi so far so good. My confusion arises because it looks like the changes to the metadata have been saved in the .original_mobi file rather than the .mobi Surely this cannot be right? What am I doing wrong? All I want it one .mobi file with the series metadata saved properly. Thanks |

Thanks theducks
That makes sense. What doesn't make sense is that after the reconversion and save, I deleted the book from my calibre library. When reimporting from the saved files, the new .mobi did not have the series information stored in it whereas the .original_mobi did. This probably wouldn't be such a problem if I used calibre as my library manager rather than just a metedata editor. Am still very confused about what I am doing wrong |

The MOBI format has no support for series metadata.
