Amazon UK Customers get tax break on ebooks
In case you haven't heard, Luxembourg will reduce the VAT on ebooks from 15% to 3% on January 1st 2012. This means those UK Kindle book shoppers should see lower prices in January. You may want to wait until then before making your purchases.
http://www.ft.com/intl/cms/s/0/8790c...44feabdc0.html http://www.thebookseller.com/news/lu...le-prices.html Of course, this will hurt WHSmith/Kobo as they have to add full 20%. This may change in 2015 as tax levied will switch to country of customer and not retailer. |

Nice one - hard to believe, really !
But does that (shock horror) mean that Amazon is a tax avoiding business ? Surely they've been helping us out by helping us by paying a lot of tax, they're known as a philanthropic organisation.................... |
