Howdy!

I just received a Sony PRS-505 for my birthday and I LOVE it. Other people see me using it and ask lots of questions, so I'm trying to spread the love.

In any case, does anyone know of an editor for .lrf of BBeB files? I just want to edit the title author, tags and add a Table of Contents. I use Book Designer, but it doesn't let me edit .lrf files. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Peace,

Bob

Welcome to MobileRead, featsfanbob! And congrats on your new toy.

There isn't really a way to edit an LRF file directly, but there are a couple of things that let you edit the items you're asking about (usually referred to as "meta-data" with or without a hyphen).

One is libprs500, but it's still being updated for the 505, and it doesn't really change the meta-data on the actual file, but rather adjusts what the Reader sees when the file is loaded.

Another is EditLRFMeta, which does actually change the meta-data in the file for you. There's a GUI overlay available for it too, called something like "editlrfmetagui," but I'll let you google that one yourself.

Look around the place and make yourself t'home, there's a gold mine of good info here for you, and it's growing daily.

lrf-meta (part of libprs500) does change the metadata inside the LRF. It can even display it for you.
