New icons for PRSX50?

Question:

Does anyone have produced custom icons for the PRSx50-readers?

Reason for question:
I try to enhance the aesthetic of my PRS350. A first attempt leads to something like that:

But I'm not very skilled in producing icons. So ready made work would be much of help.

Special techincal question:
The PNG-files for the graphics are divided in two sections. One with icons in several gray-shades, one with mostly the same icons in just black & white.

Question: what are the b&w-icons for?

Afair b/w icons are used in the title, when old style list is displayed (as in "browse folders")

In short without comprehensive explanations:

I'm using the repository of PRS+ (so I change PRS+ icons) and make custom builds of PRS+
That gives the possibility to remove the games of PRS+ (which I don't want on my reader).

1) Download the repository from PRS+ and install necessary software
2) open the folder for the reader model you want (350 in my case)
3) search for *.PNG-files which includes all the icons (there are several of them)
4) open PNG-file in Photoshop (or comparable software)
5) search icons by guessing you want to change
6) try to repaint icon; save file
7) make a custom build from PRS+
8) install the new (custom) version of PRS+

Icons itself: I'm just searching for ready Icons (in my case METRO-Style), alter them slightly and paste them into the mentioned iconfile.

It would be possible to alter the original firmware of the reader. I did it several times until that day I bricked my reader... Had to send it in for repair ;-)

Thanks for the full reply, Analogus. You alter the icons and recompile the Prs+ source code. I didn't know the code was available. I suppose it's in C. I don't plan to do it myself, too much work, but your icons look very professional. I think the 'more' icon in Prs+ is a bit rough and could with an upgrade. Your version is much better. Maybe Kartu would consider including it in a future release.

That has been the reason for beginning altering icons. I've to admit, that 'my' icons aren't my work. I took them partly from a CALIBRE icon-set, and partly from a free 'Metro' icon-set altering them slightly to fit the purpose.

The bad part for me was to install the required software which is not self explaining.

Once man know the way compiling PRS+ it's very simple and quick.

Well, about brick with PRS+... I have a bad experience myself yesterday night

, but it's almost OK now. I like your book icon a lot. I've got to see if I'm able to modify the icon set (modifying PRS+ is not a problem, I already do it).
