I download books from internet and put them on my kindle.... is there any way for amazon to find out what i've on my kindle (illegal copy of books ![]() I know it's a lot of question, Love from France. |

yes, to use 3G your Kindle must be registered.
Your second question is a little trickier. It is generally agreed that Amazon has the ability to look onto your Kindle as long as WiFi/3G is turned on. There has been much discussion (up there in the developers forum) on what type of info Amazon collects and logs. Regardless, the only time I've ever heard of Amazon banning an account is for over zealous return practices and fraud such as purchasing with stolen credit card numbers ... that type of stuff. I've never heard of an account being banned for dubious material although putting those books on a device is against the Terms of Service and Amazon has the grounds to close your account over it if they wish to do so. Everything on my Kindles has the DRM removed which is also against the TOS - even the books I purchased from Amazon. Amazon has never contacted me or made a peep over it. |

most likely your used Kindle has been reported to Amazon as stolen.

You need to contact Kindle customer service, and get the matter resolved. You can e-mail them if calling is impractical for you.

wow an other unexpected answer....
she just told me that she find it on the train and she sell it to me. so i guess that's the first owner told amazon to block it. Remember me not to trust people when you bought used stuff. |

it works really fine, just can't registered it.
She's in paris and i'm 600Km form her so i think it's over. i bought it as a gift for my 23th birthday. So is there any tricks or something just to fake the registration and allow me to sort my books by collection? (and create collections... )? |

You can't even sort the collections if it's not registered? I understand not being able to use 3g, but other things too...
I myself see no point in registering (unless for warranty) as amazon book store probably won't be a good choice for me and I'm not using amazon store, kindle will be my first purchase on amazon. Maybe not last, but still one of the few. |
