How do you eat your corn?
On the cob? Niblets? Creamed? Fried?
Left to right/right to left like a typewriter, or around in circles around the cob? Orderly or jumping all over the cob? Steamed, boiled, or grilled, etc.? Toppings: butter and salt? Soy sauce? I used to be a fan of quick-boiled cobs, or steamed (when having a clambake) but I've since switched to grilling my corn cobs on top of the stove using a cheap Japanese grill (about $5-$6) This is very popular in Japan as street vendor food at festivals, but while the Japanese dip theirs in Soy sauce, I prefer butter and salt. I also slow-cook corn niblets in butter, until they turn golden brown, and serve with grilled chicken. (Don't try to rush this cooking or the kernnels will begin bursting and splatter the kitchen! Should take about 10-15 minutes to reach the right color!) How about you? Stitchawl |

typewriter style for fresh. I lOVE grilled corn but haven't mastered the technique ;o(. when cooked off the cob, just boiled, I figure it is a masterpiece on its own ;o)

Either from the can or the cob. With the cob I find myself using the fork method more than I used to due to occasional problems keeping my dentures in place. Of course the last corn on cob I had was a bit tough so it might have been older too. So it's a case by case basis.

I like just a steamed, boiled, grilled cob, a small tab of butter, alongside a nice thick bit of good steak, but my favourite way is either as corn fritters (preferably with half the corn kernels kept "loose" in the fritter), or in crab meet and sweet corn soup.
Cheers, Marc |

On the cob, steamed in MW, butter and salt, with the picks. LD adores it.

Steamed, not in the MW, on the stove top, with butter, pepper and salt. Or done on the barbie without shucking until after it's cooked.

Sweetcorn isn't really eaten here. Unless it's in the form of popcorn... All corn that is grown here, is cow feed!
I think I ate it twice now (not counting the ones I ate when I lived in NM). both times they came from the BBQ. |

I make a bowl of popcorn almost every night. I buy an "Orville Reddenbacher's 8lb jug" about every two months. Still, just salt and occasionally butter.
![]() Without the butter it's very low calorie and a healthy snack! Stitchawl |

I only wish we could buy it in that amount! We only have tiny bags which will maybe 5 or 6 bowls...
