How do you turn Sigil OFF?
I downloaded the new Sigil and it's great - but how do you turn it off? Now it's opening EVERYTHING! Epub! Txt. Notepad. Everything that normally opened in something else is opening in Sigil. I like it but not that much!

uninstall it, then install it again and pay attention to the check-boxes and uncheck the ones you don't want sigil to open by default.

No the only options are for BOOKS! Not files! Yes I would edit HTML and TXT books also along with EPUB. I was forced to turn them off. There should be an OPTIONS button in Sigil or Preferences somewhere. I thought it was strange that there was not.
You know "files associated with Sigil" or something. Like WinRar has. |

The file associations are set by the installer. As alansplace said you can uninstall and reinstall associating the files you want to default be opened by Sigil. Not having a file associated does not mean Sigil cannot open it. It just means Windows won't open it in Sigil by default when you double click that file type.
I don't see a need to incorporate the ability to change file associations into Sigil. This is a very Windows specific feature and best left to Windows to deal with. See this for information on how to change file associations in Windows. |

What OS are you using? In windows, you need to remove (Sigil) file associations for those you don't want. Open (file) Explorer: tools: FOLDER options: On the File types tab: Locate the extension you don't want, say TXT select it. click Change. Select the default program that you DO want to use for that type. (tick Always use) and click OK (all the other programs are still available on the Open With context menu) |
