Music: What to listen to?

I've been struggling to read recently so I thought listening to music might be a remedy I can try. What can people recommend I try to listen to help 'calm myself down' and reduce my anxiety while reading? I thought this would be the best place to ask this.

Light Classical. Maybe create a Pandora or other station in that genre.

Ambient. Look for nearly anything by Jeff Pearce, Darshan Ambient, Lanterna, etc. You should be able to find some tracks from these folks at Youtube.

Will this study suggests that classical is to be preferred over dubstep. I had to look up what dubstep is

. I would be interested in further work. How rock music (1960s through mid 1980s) fares. I usually don't listen to music while reading, but if I am reading while music is on it does not take me long to completely tune it out.

I find music just doesn't work when I'm reading. I instantly listen to the music. But I love music. I can do music while cooking or tidying, but not reading.

Classical, especially small chamber music or smaller orchestra or pianoforte. Maybe Rossini's overtures or Bach's harpsichord concertos. Things that are less drastic in dynamic range and without vocals usually blend into the background better.

Bach and Mozart violin concertos. You will find many on youtube. Handel too.

I find harpsichord and piano a bit plinky-plonky. Funny because I used to play them.

I'm guessing the music MUST be something without words, right?

Could someone please post an example of a song from Youtube or something just so I know I'm listening to the correct song?

I always ejoy Mozart's violin concertos too. Wonderful melody! I highly recommend them.

I listen to classical music and nature sounds when I read.

No, I don't. I listen to classical music from a variety of sources. If I want a general mix, I'll listen to KING FM, NWPR, NRK Klassik, or Classical Radio (Pandora). If I want something specific, then I'll listen to albums I own, albums from Prime Music, or artist specific stations on Pandora. My mood determines what I listen to more than the book I'm reading.

For nature sounds, I generally listen to apps I got free from Amazon's FAOTD (Rain Therapy, Relax Melodies, etc) or Nature Radio (Pandora).
