An email from iRiver re: future firmware plans
I recently returned my iRiver Story HD, but before doing so I emailed iRiver support to ask them if they had any idea what future firmware updates would include. Here was their response:
Dear iriver customer, Thank you for contacting iriver customer support. We apologize for the inconvenience but we do not have a list of planned features and/or estimates on when the firmware updates will be available. However, once you connect via wifi, the device should automatically detect the latest firmware version and request if you would like to update it or not. This is called OTA (over the air) update, which would be much more convenient than having to download firmware files from our website and transfer them onto the unit via USB cable. If you have any further questions or concerns, please email us back at any time. Thanks & Regards, Customer & Tech Support Jonathan iriver Inc.
