ereader app for I pod Touch
Good day everyone, My wife wants to get an I pod touch, and she asked me if their was a way to read her books on the i pod touch. She has the Sony 950 just to let you all know. Is there an app that she can use to read the books that she has on an I pod touch. Most of the books she has bought have been from the e reader store. I know that on the e reader store their is an app for android, but don't know if that would work on the iPod. Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Brad |

No, there is no app. It was announced, then it was cancelled - or, at least, delayed - due to SONY and Apple running into some issues about the was SONY charges for its books. I am puzzled, because I don't see much difference between SONY's pricing structure and, say, Amazon's (but, for some reason, the Kindle app was approved, while SONY's wasn't).
Anyhow, SONY's store first announced the app, then said it was delayed and eventually removed any mention of it, without ever announcing a cancellation. As we have not heard anything about it since January, I would not hold my breath... The only alternative, somehow cumbersome, is to strip your books of DRM. The legality of it is debatable and people will not give instructions here on the forums. But you can Google it. Overall, a pain in the backside. I wish I could read my books on the iPad, but I am too lazy to strip. Hopefully SONY and Apple will solve their differences... |

You should check out the Bluefire Reader app. It works with Adobe DRM books.
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bluef...94275498?mt=8# There's a running thread on this app over in the Apple device forum on MR. Here's the link to the thread. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=101992 |

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bluef...94275498?mt=8# Does that mean you can make it work with content purchased from SONY's store? I mean, authorize it to work with the same DRM account? |

You have to register Bluefire Reader to the same email address and password that you used for the Sony Reader account. I use Bluefire Reader to read my purchased Sony and Kobo ebooks on my iPad. No synching though. Last edited by sonyreaderfan; 07-04-2011 at 05:17 PM. |

Thanks everyone! I even had Bluefire installed, but had no idea I could log in with the same username/password. Adobe DRM is still a mystery to me.
But I just tried and it works wonderfully. My apologies to the OP for providing incorrect info. |
