Use Of Blackboard With The eDGe?

I'm curious to hear what, if any, uses of the Blackboard Learning System any of you may be doing or contemplating doing. Thanks!

I take my classes on blackboard. My Edge treats most of the text boxes as some kind of button tho. I'm unable to type so I can't really do any work just check up on my classes really. I guess its a JavaScript issue or something. It's a let down, I've tried different browsers still the same. You might be able to take test if it's multiple choice but I've been to scared to try. The day I'm able to do all my class work on my Edge I'll be 100% happy with it till then I'm 97% happy. The Edge is almost perfect and the entourage team is the greatest.

There's been a couple of threads on this now, word is that Entourage has a partnership with Blackboard, though nothing seems to have been mentioned since the blog post in Jan. But then again, Entourage don't seem to like announcing anything till 'BAM' its all sorted, organised, and ready.

My main curiosity was in what ideas people are thinking about incorporating when the partnership with enTourage and Blackboard is "consummated" . For instance, the way I use Blackboard now is mainly unidirectional: I post assignments, documents, grades, etc. Students retrieve documents and assignments, turn in electronic copies of papers, and so forth. I'm sure these same actions can take place via the eDGe, but I'm interested in more optimally using Blackboard's collaborative features. Some of that I can gain just by delving deeper into the Blackboard system itself, but if there are features of the eDGe that in combination would extend Blackboard's capabilities beyond what it can do on its own, that would be excellent. I've gotten a lot of great ideas on just general topics, that I probably never would have come up with on my own, by reviewing some of the threads in these forums. So I'm just hoping that as we are the initial "lab rats" with the eDGe, that this forum will be a nice brainstorming incubator as well. Take care.

I'm anxious for BB compatibility myself as all of my classes utilize it for assignment submission and testing.

Still no word on BB. I don't get it I have an android phone that everthing on BB works. Also I've noticed edge team members are talking less and less in the forums. On some threads other members are noticing as well.

...RIGHT!!!

There will come a time when when the size of this forum, repeating the same answers, (that could be 'searched' for), and personal needs/interests of 'you people' will deminish your interest/ability to monitor this forum and provide the timely and direct assistance that you're doing now. ...(Whew) The 'company staff' never have the desire or ability to replace the group of senior 'Contributers'.

I have watched'BuIliten boards and forums degrade for more decades than I care(can) remember. So ...while your still available and active...I try to read everything. ...and the reason for these 'rants' in odd places.

There's the Blackboard app but it's only "officially" for Sprint phones. Seems kinda silly to have vendor lock-in on an academic app.

Blackoard inc. has it on the website. I put in on my edge and got an error said it really only works on a Sprint phone. I got it from the market on my Sprint moment its handy. It would be a great app if it worked on the edge.

I found a link for the apk which isn't tied to Sprint. But my school doesn't pay Blackboard mobile services. http://www.xeudoxus.com/android/Blackboard.apk

Thanks for the link, unfortunately my school is not subscribed either. Although, the pop-up that informed me of that said there was no cost to the school to enable it. I'm off to the it dept on Monday to see about support. Thanks again.

10tklz,

Thanks for the link; I'll have to check into this, as well. BTW, I hadn't seen this posted before, but Barnes & Noble and Blackboard announced their partnership this past week:

Looks like this fall will be a critical time for first-mover advantage in this space. I'm really eager to see what enTourage has up its sleeves.
