Home Screen/Daily Shelf for all sideloaded files

Hi Everyone,

I'm your latest newbie! About two years ago I fell in love with ebooks while reading them over my ipod touch and iphone and now I'm ready to make the leap to something with a screen larger than a business card!

I like the Nook Color and am hoping to get a decent deal on one through kijiji or craigslist as I live in Canada. My question is, since all of my ebooks will be sideloaded files purchased through Canadian stores, what will appear on my home screen? Its my understanding that only BN books appear in the Daily Shelf but what about the rest of the screen. I don't see myself ever buying anything from Barnes and Noble unless they open themselves up on an international level. Can I have other apps, folders etc appear on the home screen so its not a complete waste of space? I figure the Daily Shelf area at the bottom won't look too awful since it will just be a blank strip.

Is there anything else I should consider as a Canadian user before committing to the NC?

Interested in hearing your thoughts.

With the latest update (1.2) to the Nook Color sideloaded content appears right alongside B&N content (books, apps), it's not segregated anymore.
