There are a couple of threads on this topic over on Barnes and Noble's user forum. Some people got their Glowlight faster by just ordering it online even though they were preordered at the local store.

I got my Glow by watching the 'in stock' listing at my local B&N store. The day after they posted 'in stock' I went by at 3pm and asked if anyone on the reservation list hadn't picked up their Glow. Low and behold, one person hadn't so they released it and I walked home with a new device.

Yep! Very excited. I will be upgrading from the original Nook with Wifi and can't wait. And it turns out today the wait is over! I had TWO stores call me this morning to tell me it was in!!

Will be leaving in a bit to pick it up ;-)
