When the screen gets dirty, take a warm damp (not wet) cloth and clean it, dry it, go back to reading. Its tougher than you might think. As to a cover, the whole point to a mini (I thought) was that it fits in your pocket. Put it in the cover and it isn't going to do that. I "suspect" you could make a cover out of a cheap dollar store photo album and a bit of velcro if you insist. Couple of threads posting how to's for Jetbooks, I don't see that the mini would be that different. |

Walmart sold cheap plastic on the roll, very thin, that you can buy by the yard, like $2.50 a yard. You can cut what ever size screen protector out of it. It's not perfect, but if you are real worried about it, it will do. If Walmart doesn't sell it any more, I'm sure other fabric stores do.

Some white macadamia nut cookies I got from the local bakery came in a large rigid and transparent plastic box. I cut off a flat, screen-sized piece from the box top and slipped it over the screen.

Two unexpected things I found about this transparent protector: it has negligible impact on readability (little glare), and it is surprisingly resistant to all the little smudges I'd been putting on the screen up til then. So now I've secured the plastic on each side with a little strip of scotch tape. Easy to remove and replace. Bonus: you get to have some delicious white macadamia nut cookies to snack on while you're reading - although I guess non white macadamia nut cookie box transparent plastic might work as well. :-) |
