Music on PB 302

Hi all,

I decided to try the music feature on my PB 302. I found the misc through my earphones to be far too loud, and tapped multiple times on the little volume icon thingy in the lower right-hand corner of the music panel, next to the pause/play and what I presume are the next and previous buttons.

No result. then I tried pausing the overly-loud music while I fiddled. Again, no result. None of the buttons work. To pause music, I have to tap the title of the file that is playing.

Does anyone know if these buttons/controls are working? I'm on firmware V 15.2

Cheers,

Fixed

Hi all,

found the solution to this situation: I was using a non-default theme, and this had the volume controls not displayed. Tapping the display that shows how many bars of volume level you have, will achieve nothing. Returning to the default theme displays the volume controls.

Sadly, there is so much background hiss/popping/etc, that setting the volume to a level at or below 1/3 maximum makes this feature unusable.

Unbelievable, that PB asked people to pay an exorbitant sum for this otherwise fine device on release, with such poor quality control in production, and seem so apathetic towards its support and development.

PB should be ashamed.

I'd forgotten about this other 'feature' of the 302 that, really, is useless because of the poor quality. Thanks for the reminder!

Hi all,

I dug a little further, and as best I could, compared the sound with a new PB 602.

There was far less hiss and popping on the 602. But subjectively, I felt the 302 had the mellower sound, though slightly less clear than the 602. It was as if the 602 had been given a bit of a base and treble boost over the 302.

Were it not for the background noise - it sounds a little like a radio station that is just off tune - I'd have preferred the 302. Perhaps it is the same chip with slight manufacturing differences, but I don't know for sure.

Some earbuds have an inline volume control. Perhaps that would make the situation tolerable on the 302.

Cheers,
