Free! Transcendence by Christopher McKitterick [PDF & EPUB]
Author Christopher McKitterick is giving away his novel Transcendence for free on his site (as well as selling paper copies of course).

Summary:

Humankind rushes toward self-destruction and must evolve or die. Our perspective: a scientist exploring an alien artifact on Triton, a teen-aged hacker in a city gone mad, three actors manipulated into igniting interplanetary war, the de-facto ruler of half the solar system, a soldier fighting in Africa to entertain his audience, an artificial intelligence facing personal crisis, and a cast of billions.
One of the blurbs says it's a "cyberpunk/space opera/coming-of-age/new-wave philosophical action novel," so that's exciting.

Right now it's available in PDF format and he's planning on releasing other formats soon as well.

Update Dec. 1: ePub format is now available!

HTML works fairly well on iPad, but spread to page width, the font is still to small for me.

Keep in mind, the HTML is not the complete novel. Only the first couple of chapters are available on-line. If you want the complete novel, you have to go with the PDF for now. The author asks for conversion help on his site. Maybe Jon can convert it to EPUB?
