Printing notes on DX?
My SIL has apparently made several notes on his DX for his textbooks....and now realizes he could study those notes better if they were all on one page.....
Is there a way to print those out? He has the same book on his K4PC, but the notes are on the KDX. I don't ever use the 'notes/annotations' feature on my K3....so I"m clueless here. Thanks for any help. |

He just needs to transfer a copy of the "MyClippings.txt" file to his computer and print the section with the notes for the book he wants.

There is a way to do this. I found this online
"I got this email from Amazon this morning: Dear Customers, Our customers have told us that they love being able to add highlights and notes to their Kindle books. We want to make it possible for you to access your highlights and notes directly from a Web browser too. So we've released http://kindle.amazon.com, an online tool that enables you to do just that. To try it out, go to http://kindle.amazon.com, sign in with your Amazon account, and simply select one of your books where you have added highlights or notes. We hope you enjoy this new feature." There is also a site where you can log in on your computer and see all of your notes but I cannot find the link for it. |

My Clippings.txt logs each annotation/bookmark/highlight that you add on the Kindle in question, but doesn't show any that were added on another Kindle (or Kindle apps that allow annotation). If you delete My Clippings, there is no way to recreate it. There was a tool that could extract information from the .mbp 'sidecar' files where the annotations/bookmarks/highlights are actually stored (the equivalent for Topaz files is .tan, and for PDF, it is .pdr). But with recent updates only references to highlighted text are saved there, and the highlighted text itself is usually locked inside DRM, where only a Kindle can get to it. Too bad. Kindle needs a true 'export annotations' function. In lieu of that, probably the best way is to open your notes&marks and do 1 or more screenshots. Then you can copy to your computer, and use OCR to extract text. Last edited by tomsem; 10-13-2010 at 07:31 PM. Reason: clarification |

SIL was just here after work, and we first tried the link given........but his book wasn't there. Realized that was because it hadn't been bought from Amazon.....
So......we plugged in the DX, went to documents, opened and voila! There they were....... Easy peasy. Thank you all again. ![]() |

Amazon should add in 2 page view mode that shows notes/clippings on the side when in landscape mode >>
Would be good on the DX Really good for poetry // Archaic texts (definitions/footnotes) |
