Error with check library, out of memory

MacOS (Latest)
Calibre 9.6
menu
_Calibre_master -> Library Maintenance -> Check Library

when running it gives an error that the system has run out of memory. I need to force quit.

It seems there is adequate storage 10gb on hard drive. No other application open. I have reboot and attempted several times.

Any help? I did not yet submit as a bug as this may only be on my system.

With Calibre 9.7.0 this is somewhat better, though not entirely fixed. I initiate "Check Library" then OK to "Check the database file". It runs for short while (30 seconds perhaps) and I get a success message. Then I get the usual "Check library -- Problems found" dialog and I click done. That seems as it was before. HOWEVER. A spinning MacOS icon is shown for about a minute before it is completed and Calibre released for further use -- I don't think it was like that before. Its ok then, doesn't cause crash, just a delay after running.
