Introducing Myself: Reader, Dev, and AI-Assisted Author
Hi everyone! I'm Peace — a long-time reader and a developer who recently built an AI-assisted writing system. I’ve published three books so far and am currently working on my fourth and fifth. I know AI-assisted writing can be viewed critically, so I joined MobileRead to learn from the community, understand different perspectives, and chat with fellow readers and writers. Looking forward to being part of the discussions here

I hope you learn not to use any AI when writing your books as I don't know of anyone who wants AI written books.

Depends on how you use it. As sorta storyline outlining
tool or blatantly generate text and post as it is. |

I mean, a knife is a very useful tool for many different tasks. But thousands of people have been killed with a knife. Does this make knives evil? Should they be banned? |

Depends on the knife, though. Like, butterfly knife or overly large knives should not be something that people carry around in the city. That’s why we need AI regulation, because LLMs should not be allowed to be used everywhere. |

I don't think there's a true way to Ban Ai in certain territories.
We can discourage certain behavior, even punish or disqualify someone after we find out they are using Ai wrongly. But as technology advancing, identifying Ai generated thing would only be harder and harder. This phenomena has already being in photo, picture, vedio and voice generating. It is so hard to identify Ai stuff, especially high quality ones. Also, I don't find anything worng using Ai as searching assist and creativity bootleg. But that's just me. So we bring out the core topic: at least in entertainment territory, creating should be free. If you don't like something, just do not buy it. Vote with your money! This is the exact thing happened in vedio games, companies have been pushing DEI sh*t the last five years or so. But the selling numbers teached them the hard way. So they are stoping, just that easy. No need to boycott this or cancel that, just vote with your money. As such, why there's no way to ban Ai stuff? Well you can certainly ban it from this forum if you are the administor, but they can just post or publish it somewhere else, and sadly people do buy it. But you can make laws to ban them right? This is a really hard topic, involving exact tool, usage, rights they violate exc. And I certainly do not want to talk too much in a reading forum, it's just not relevant. Conclusion, I think it's more apporate to discuss the very exact behavior/ work/ author/ usage, rather than using Ai as a whole, cause it is just not feasible nor appropriate. |

I'm not talking about banning AI. I'm talking about not using it for something that should be done 100% by a human such as writing a book.
If I ever bought a book and found out AI was used, I'd be pissed. I don't want any AI in the books I read unless I was reading a non-fiction book about AI. If a book uses AI at all, it needs to have in big letters on the front cover that AI was used. Last edited by JSWolf; 12-06-2025 at 10:42 PM. |

Well I do not agree that. More specificly, when it comes to typing the exact text, yes, one should do by themselves. But preparation? I don't see a problem, it's just like any other writing tools.
