Command line, Adding books also picks up metadata not in command used

Dear All,

I'm currently using the Command Line option to add books, but somehow calibre is still picking up metadata from somewhere, not part of the command used to add the book itself.

In Preferences, under metadata download, I've disabled everything. Same for adding books. The bookcover I don't mind, even welcome that one. Though it also somehow picks up items like publisher, language, ratings, tags, indentifiers, I did not add to the command used myself. the ones that I add, in case not relevant, are added as empty strings.

Command Format Used:
calibredb.exe --library-path "PathToLibrary" add -a "Author" -t "Title" -s "Series" -S SeriesIndexInteger -l "Language" -T "Tags" "PathToBookAndFileName"

-Is there any way of telling calibre to ONLY use the information from the command used, and ignore everything else?

So no metadata downloads, nor metadata from the books format itself.

Thanks for any hints and/or tips.

Best regards,

That's metadata from the book format. Simply use ebook-meta command to set themetadata in the book before adding it with calibredb

Thanks kovidgoyal,

Found it in the commandline help and will have a good look at it. Looks relatively simple, so I should be able to understand it. With some luck I can preserve the cover, and nullify everything else, except for what I want to keep.

This forum, and its many posts, has so far been very helpfull in kicking me in the right direction.

Thanks again,
