:help: Can Calibre read VBK books?

Frankly, I can't even get VitalSource's Bookshelf to give me a desktop icon. I have to open it from the Microsoft store every time I want to read the book I bought.

Thank you, but in that case, how can I buy books compatible with Calibre in the future?

Buy ePub from Kobo and/or eBooks.com.

Also use the DeDRM plugin to remove any DRM. DeDRM can be had at...

https://github.com/noDRM/DeDRM_tools...lease/releases

Click the header next to pre-release to go to where the alpha version is. The alpha version is the version with the current code.

DRM-free books are compatible with calibre. If the book has DRM, it must be removed before you can read the book in the calibre viewer. If the book can only be opened in a proprietary app or website, without the option to download and save the file to your computer, it's incompatible with calibre.

Vitalsource uses its own proprietary drm so can only be read on vitalsource apps.

Agree with Jon.
