kfmon disables WiFi when installed with other packages
I wrote a shell script to combine multiple Kobo customizations into one KoboRoot.tgz. It's pretty simple--unpacks kfmon, koreader, nickelmenu, along with my desired nm/conf file, and then creates a new tarball and copies it to the kobo device. The goal is to be able to restore a Kobo to my desired configuration in a single step after a factory reset.
Everything appears to load properly -- kfmon, koreader, nickelmenu are all there with the expected settings -- but after doing this, I'm unable to see any Wi-Fi access points from the device from the Kobo native environment. Wi-Fi is fine in KOReader, but outside of KOReader, no access points ever appear. I've tried rebooting the device, toggling Wi-Fi, using connect to WiFi from Nickelmenu, but I'm unable to see any access points. If I then re-install kfmon by copying just the kfmon KoboRoot.tgz to the device and restarting, Wi-Fi is restored. Is there a reason my original proposed approach of packing all the modifications into a single KoboRoot.tgz causes Wi-Fi to fail? |
