I just have jailbroken my kindle k4 No Touch (black) and set up KUAL and KOreader.
First of all I want to thank all of the people contributing to this community. The support seems amazing and I'm glad to have found such an active and independent forum. It all went smoothly with the detailed instructions from the sticky posts. When connecting my kindle to the wifi after setting up everything I hit a problem though. A new document appeared at the very homepage, an amazon notice stating "Dear developer, Your kindle is no longer a test device.. You cannot access dev signed booklets from now.", leaving me unable to open the KUAL booklet. ("Not authorized, contact devs, bla.." As I flashed the 2025 updated def certs before, I did just that, with no success. A new notice appeared, same timestamp, different content. I still couldn't open KUAL with the same error message as before. When I entered flight mode and went through the same procedure, I could now access the booklet again. So appearantly amazon will just always remove your appropriate keys when finding your kindle connecting to their network. I don't need internet access right now, but when I do, I am left with dns blocking amazon in my network? A solution would be appreciated. + My FW is 4.1.3 and did not change troughout this problem and should be blocked to do so by the prevent backdoorfw update extension. |

Is your K4 registered to Amazon account?
I somewhat recall that somebody mentioned that they fixed this problem by making those keystore files (or the whole directory?) immutable (chattr +i ). |

It's been noted quite often that only the latest firmware on these old Kindles works correctly with the new Dev Certs. As Quoth pointed out, the latest for your device is 4.1.4.
