send to iphone kindle app from calibre in ubuntu

Can anyone help me please? I am using calibre in ubuntu and would like to send books from calibre to kindle-app on iphone. I have not been successful doing this after many tries. One method uses email and I am on thunderbird but the transmission fails. Another method is via usb cable. I have tried umpteen times and it doesn't work form me. I am not using cloud. In advance, thank you for the assist.

If sending from calibre, why not post the errors being received.

There are no errors shown. Kindle app supplies a special email address for sending books via email to kindle app. In calibre's main screen you go to "Connect/share", then "email to select recipients...", then put a check mark in the special email address, then "okay". It proceeds to convert to azw3 and shows up as an ongoing job. After completion you now have an azw3 as well as original epub showing in calibre's main screen. The iphone does not show new book, even after synching. Thunderbird message reports error saying unsupported file format.

Try emailing the epub. Amazon converts it.

Thanks. It works for <5mb. There is something called filelink for >5mb. I'll have to figure that out. For some reason the calibre Connect/share method is not working for me.

Have you configured calibre's B]Preferences[/B] | Sharing books by email to have an SMTP server and done a Test eMail from that screen?
