Changing titles

Dear all,
I'm new to Mobileread, apologies if this topic had been posted already.
I actually surfed different pages, but I felt quite lost to be honest.
I'm trying to amend book titles as they are currently written in different possible way and I'd like to make the library look a bit tidy.
When I click on Device I can see the list of all the books but Edit Metadata looks grey (not clickable) and there's nothing I can do on there.
I tried to right click or double click on the title, but nothing brings to where I could possibly change the name of the book.
If this topic has already been posted somewhere on this forum, I'd very much appreciate if you could address me there otherwise I'd happily wait for some advice from some expert.

Kindles use Metadata that is contained when the book is SENT.
Typically Title and Author
Enter the metadata Plugboard: (preferences: plugboard)
This does a sleight of hand and inserts extra stuff that Kindles don't normally process .
THIS METHOD LEAVES THE CALIBRE METATADATA NORMAL.
My plugboard has multiple devices (entries) to support.
I show the AZW3 entry, but you might get away with any as a device if you only have a Kindle

You need to edit the titles in the library view, not the device view.
