Lost after installing 2.52: preview + images

Hello! Tried updating to 2.52 under win10 and:
- no preview of any page
- images open invisible when clicked--thumbnails showing in reports
Tried:
- uninstall + plus fresh install
- same + manual deletion of sigil folders under user appdata--no soap.
On my way to try another computer under win11.
Please, help!

A couple things to try if you haven't already:
- Toggle F10 (View/Preview on menu), sometimes the preview window is on a different monitor in multi-monitor setups...or perhaps in a tab on the side window. Toggling brings it to the forefront.



- after double-clicking the image in the Images folder in the Book Browser, the image should appear in the Main window area. I have noticed that it will occasionally be blank until I force it to refresh by moving the scroll wheel a little bit. What kind of image is it (jpg, png, svg) ??

I'm running on a Windows 11 and it seems to work fine.

Thanks, but nothing doing.
After installing without trouble in another computer, I suspect that the trouble in this one comes not from it running win10, but from it being dual boot with ubuntu in another disk, which is chiefly ext4, and so out of windows reach, but containing also Sigil ??? Unfortunately, I don´t know how to safely unmount the linux disk under windows, to try a Sigil install that would skip it--enough trouble achieving the dual boot to risk unsetting without instructions !!

Under the Advanced tab of Sigil's General preferences section, try checking the "Disable GPU Acceleration of QtWebEngine/Preview" check box and restarting Sigil. Newer versions of Qt6 are leaving more and more graphics cards behind.

If that doesn't work, try creating a system environment variable called QSG_RHI_BACKEND and setting it's value to 'opengl' (without the quotes). You may need to restart for things to take effect.

Great! For the record... unless you have some javascript/image heavy (and I mean really heavy) epubs, Sigil's performance isn't really affected (in my experience on two different platforms) by hardware acceleration (or lack thereof). In fact, on my fairly beefy Linux machine, Sigil runs faster for me with pure software rendering than it does with any other sort of accelerated gpu rendering.
