NEED HELP Kindle Being Recognised As Device Not USB. Interfering with process
I recently got a Kindle KT6 to replace my broken Kobo Nia and have been trying to jailbreak it my new Kindle. I am trying to use https://github.com/bastianmarin/Kindle-Filler-Disk/ to make sure it wont update when connected to the internet but the kindle is being recognised as a device not a usb drive. This is causing me problems and not letting me fill the storage and go through with the jailbreak process. Powershell is giving me this error when tying to run the script: New-Item : Access to the path 'fill_disk' is denied.
At C:\Users\CENSORED FOR OBVIOUS REASONS\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\ IE\50PX25V9\Filler[1].ps1:11 char:30 + ... t (Test-Path $dir)) { New-Item -ItemType Directory -Path $dir | Out-N ... + ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ + CategoryInfo : PermissionDenied: (C:\WINDOWS\System32\fill_disk:String) [New-Item], UnauthorizedAccessE xception + FullyQualifiedErrorId : CreateDirectoryUnauthorizedAccessError,Microsoft.P owerShell.Commands.NewItemCommand PLEASE HELP ![]() ![]() Thanks |

Latest generation of Kindle models use MTP protocol to export Kindle's storage, not USB mass storage like the older Kindles. Nothing you can do to change that.
Guess you'll just have to manually fill the wanted amount of storage space with some "junk data". You can transfer something like movies, TV show episodes or music albums. Whatever type of data you have at hand on your computer will do the job of using the space on your Kindle. Last edited by shamanNS; 05-29-2025 at 02:21 PM. |

What model is it? KT6 isn't one I recognize. If it's 9th gen or older then all of the firmware versions it can run can be jailbroken so there's no reason to bother with filling it.
