Suggestion: Show cover.jpg File size in Book Details image or Edit Metadata image

When viewing a book details using the Book Details pane, the cover image is shown above the details. You can mouseover the cover image and a pop-up will open showing the image path, and image dimensions.

OR when your editing the book using the Edit Metadata button, you can mouseover the image and the pop-up will list the dimensions. The image also displays the image dimensions in the lower right corner. (Not sure, but I believe this was a recently added feature?)

This is nice, but I would also like to be able to see the file size in either the Book Details pane mouseover pop-up, or the Edit Metadata image mouseover pop-up or maybe displayed in the lower left corner (just like the dimensions are shown in the lower right.)

Why? - - Recently I have discovered many books are including very large cover images in high detail, vastly inflating the book size.

I had one book that was like 5 meg in size when I bought it. BUT was only 100-120 pages. when I looked at the book with Edit Books tool in Calibre I saw that the image was something like 2000x3000 and was ~4.5 meg in size. I used my favorite image editing tool to resize it to ###x1200 and saved it and now the book was less than 400kb.

A lot of books are coming out recently have 1200x1920 cover sizes (or in that range) and while most of the images are 1-2 meg in file size, some are only 250-400kb.

I prefer to edit the size of those cover images with large files sizes to ###x1200 to reduce the image file size, and would skip the ones that are under 400kb.

Being able to see the file size with out having to use the "open book folder" to open an explorer window to view the folder contents, or open the image in my image viewer from the book details pane to see the file size, or use the Edit Books tool to see the file size would be nice.

You can use the calibre editor to see the size of the graphics. In the editor you can reduce the resolution of any of the graphics you want. You can also do a lossless compression that will reduce the file size of the graphics. I do this.

You can also use the bug tracker to request new features. To mark a bug report as a request for a new feature just add [Enhancement] to the subject.

Ah, my mistake, well no point opening a feature request for it, since that's not going to happen. And anyway since the cover image format is fixed to jpeg the filesize is directly proportional to image resolution except in pathological cases.

Quality Check plugin thread says: "Find books that have covers based on a choice of criteria such as file size or dimensions" - that's as much as I know, I've never used the PI.
