No, both have Enable Sharing to do this, and that is what you need to use.

I do not know what the 'PDOC' field does in the MOBI options, and there is no reason to generate MOBI instead of AZW3 unless you have a Kindle 1 or 2.

Or any DX or DXG model (those are gen 2, even the DXG models that came out after the k3).

The K3 and some other early kindles need FW updates to get azw3/KF8 as they didn't come with it.

Note the K3 needs updated in steps/stages. My second-hand K3 didn't have azw3 till I updated it.

Has anyone found a fix for getting Covers to work in Colorsoft when sideloading from Calibre? This is VERY frustrating.

Send them as PDOC instead of EBOK? Convince Amazon that making the walls around their garden higher and higher is not a good idea? Switch to other brands that simply work better with calibre?

Yes. Assign the correct ASIN and turn off airplane mode so the covers get pulled from Amazon. Set KFX Output to make EBOK and not PDOC. So far I’ve only run across one book that this hasn’t worked for and that was because it was a book not sold on Amazon. Actually the book isn’t sold anywhere. It’s a novella that could only be gotten directly from the author.

That suggestion has a rather nasty risk. If your Kindle does not connect to Amazon for a sufficiently long time period (the reports of how long that period are have ranged from 2 weeks up), when you reconnect your Kindle to WiFi, Amazon can and will delete ebooks with the EBOK cdetype with ASINs that match Amazon books that are not present in your content library.

If you live in airplane mode 24/7/365, there is no risk of Amazon deleting your books - they can't.

I know, but keeping your Kindle offline 24/7/365 is actually the most reliable method to avoid any book deleting, so why advise people not to do it? The sure way to get your books deleted is to use wifi intermittently, once every few weeks or so. So you either connect your Kindle daily/weekly or not at all.
