Clara BW landscape mode seems doesn't work correctly

Hi everyone,first post here,hope every one a good day!Sorry for the title spelling:it's landscape mode.

I add ForceAllowLandscape=true in [DeveloperSettings] in .kobo/kobo/kobo eReader.conf and there's an orientation icon in the top menu while reading.
But the problem is when I touch the screen, right-top becomes the left-bottom,up is down....(just like Captain Jack Sparrow's map)
Even when I switch to the nickelMenu and add these in config:

menu_item :reader :-> :nickel_orientation :landscape
menu_item :reader :<- :nickel_orientation :inverted_landscape
menu_item :reader :Up :nickel_orientation

ortrait

but,still the same .
Also, problem No.2 :I set opeed develop mode and set the rientation but even doesn't work at all.

So anybody konws or has the same [up is down] with me ?Help me!

I have the same experience with kobo clara bw. Did you find any solution for der landscape problems? Do we have to wait for another firmware?
Which firmware is on your clara bw.
Could not find the firmware download here. Where is it?

There is currently no solution. You're not supposed to have access to landscape mode on the Clara BW, so Kobo will probably never fix it. Perhaps a firmware patch will be able to correct the controls at some point.

One of the current issues with Libra 2 images is that there are multiple variants with most of the changes people have noticed being around the power management hardware.

Yeah, I accidentally copy/pasted my response about why multiple Libra 2 firmware images from a PM here. Watching hockey and responding to messages was likely not a good idea.

New here, but having read a couple of thread as a guest before.

I have exactly the same issue with tolino shine 5. Does anyone know whether there is a workaround in the mean time?

Background, I used to have a Kobo Clara 2e, and the option was working (Although I rarely use it, but my wife does).
I lost my clara 2e and bought a tolino shine 5. I noticed the interface is extremely similar to the kobo, and the config file is in a folder... kobo/.kobo.

Yet, I have the same behaviour as described above (cross inversion of touch screen, if I press up/right corner, the device seems to think I pressed bottom/left).

So any news would be welcome :-)

There haven't been any firmware patches developed to address this yet, AFAIK.

Any news on this? I bought my Mom a Kobo Clara BW and I just played with it a little since I was thinking of buying a Clara BW for myself too. It took me several minutes to get it back to portrait

I hope it's fixable since the BW's screen is so much better than my Paperwhite and I don't know any place where I can test the Clara Colour's screen.

Nope. IIRC the last model that supports this is the Clara 2E, but that model has a Carta 1200 screen, compared to the Carta 1300 screen in the Clara BW.

Too bad, they don't sell 2E here in Europe anymore. I can't understand why they decided to remove landscape on a new model. Oh well, at least I can try KOReader on my phone...

Kobo didn't remove it. Landscape mode has never been supported on 6" models. NickelMenu allows you to access hidden firmware features, and Kobo can break that stuff at any time with new firmware and hardware revisions. Kobo has no obligation to keep our tricks, addons, and patches working in the future.

Kobo intends landscape mode for 7, 8, and 10" devices, but Kobo uses roughly the same firmware on every device, so in the past you could use NickelMenu to access landscape mode on 6" devices as an unofficial bonus feature. Unfortunately, the latest devices are quite different from the older ones, and Kobo is making major firmware changes lately, so some of the old mods aren't working anymore.
