Thanks. Devmode works, but no option for switching to kobo. But that's okay. I'm still considering whether to switch or just use KOReader on the (up-to-date) Tolino FW.

With 5.1.184318 i am running Kobo on my Tolino Vision. But what is not clear to me, if i want to downgrade to v4, what firmware must i use? Is it the official Tolino firmware? Or can i use the Kobo firmware?

You cannot downgrade by simply providing a lower firmware, you need to use this downgrade package.

Lovely, that worked like a charm. Is it now possible to upgrade with Kobo firmware? Or do i need to update with Tolino firmware packages?

Yes you can update with kobo fw now, (OTA should actually work as well)
