There was a certain temptation to delete a mass of message in this thread suggesting that the OP should not try to get their old Kobo Touch functioning. Please try to be helpful and stay on topic.

OTOH, I have my Kobo Original, Kobo Wifi and Kobo Touch in working condition. I haven't read on them all that often in the last decade but I still enjoy having them around and in working condition. I have also picked up non-functioning electronics just for the fun of getting back into working order. |

It's not about not having the money to buy a new one it's more like about being able to repair an old model (which i'm fond to) just for the sake of it, also i'd like to have it functioning just in case i needed it. I'll definitely try out all the fixes suggested asap, thank you to anyone who tried to help! ![]() |

Hello, I installed the sd card image that I got here and everything went well. But a few days ago it was restored to the factory, I don't know if it was my wife's mistake or the ereader went crazy. The fact is that now it does not go beyond the initial configuration. After selecting language, and time zone, when you put the wifi network it accepts it but returns to the time zone again. If I try to do this using Kobo Desktop, it says that it was impossible to connect to the network. And again it resets, updates and first settings again. I've tried putting "SideloadedMode=true" in Kobo ereader.conf to avoid figuration, but it doesn't seem to work. Also upload the latest update of pgaskin.net in.kobo. But it doesn't work either. I accept any suggestion, except give up. Thank you

Glawen,
I am guessing you have already tried this to rule it out as a potential problem, but have you tried a different usb cable that is capable of data transfer's, and I also believe an older usb 2.0 only hub may help (if you have one that is). I also still have older kobo tech - not the kobo touch, but a couple of kobo glo's that I still use, from time to time. Thanks Rugbyfan 1986 |
