Hi Guys,

does anyone still have the fiirmware for the update to Android 8.1 for the LikeBook Ares? The official Mega Link does not work anymore

The link above is for a German forum that requires registration to see any links. I've found a direct download of the v3.0.1 firmware, in case anybody is searching for one:

* I haven't tried updating with the firmware yet, so the usual caveats apply, but I found the link in this article about updating via Linux. It seems legitimate, so I'm fairly happy to trust that the firmware isn't sketchy.

Actually, forget the above post (I can't seem to edit or delete it now). I ended up translating and registering with the German forum to reveal the links, which includes slightly newer firmware (v3.1.1) than the one I shared.

Oh. If the second is a firmware update from 3.0.1 to 3.1.1, does that mean I can't or shouldn't use it to directly update my Ares from (I think) 2.3.3-2020041717?

From 2.x (Android 6) you must use the first to update to Android 8.1 (3.0.1). After it you can update to FW 3.1.1

That's helpful to know - thanks! Otherwise I'd have just tried to apply 3.1.1.
