I was unable to sign up for any of the US membership deals, but the error for the "2 mo Free (unknown)" deal is the first time they've explained in detail:

Audible defines a year as a rolling 12 month period. My understanding is that a full 12 months must pass since your membership ended. For trial offers, your membership ends at the end of the trial period, even if you cancel early.

Since your membership ended less than 12 months ago, you won't qualify for any of these membership offers. That said, it doesn't hurt to try anyway because sometimes you might get lucky. Again, YMMV.

When I was posting these free membership offers, I checked to see if I qualified for any of them. I was rejected for the Audible US (unknown) offer just like you. The problem with that rejection is that my last membership ended on 05 Aug 2024, a full 15 months ago. Go figure. The good news for me is that I qualify for the United & jetBlue offers. So I'll probably take the United offer.

While they aren't free, it looks like there are also a bunch of bundles on sale:

Upon closer inspection, I believe each of the individual titles are on sale as well, so you needn't buy the whole bundle if you already own one of the books.

I don't know anything about the narrators, but among other things, I see a number of series by Science Fiction greats like Robert Heinlein, Ben Bova, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Larry Niven…
