What Feasts at Night by T. Kingfisher is $3 in the US (Kobo, Amazon)
Follow-up to What Moves the Dead, which I loved - it was a retelling of The Fall of the House of Usher, and much superior to it IMO. I think these are standalone stories, so you won't miss much jumping into this, besides some background for the recurring characters. Quote:

The Open Road ebook is new. The novel was originally published by Cemetery Dance in 2018.
While it's labeled as horror on Goodreads, and was nominated for a Locus award in that category, reviewers suggest it's a misleading label. |
