Thanks, DNSB, this is definitely interesting. With my Win10 22H2 19045.4412:
(1) Clicking on the .tar.xz does nothing. According to Quote:
(2) using 7-zip 9.22 beta, I opened the .xz -- and got exactly the same results you did. There was the .tgz file large as life. (Incidentally, I see that 7-zip is up to v24.06, so it's time for me to upgrade) Ha! My problem was that I extracted the .xz instead of opening it. Trying again, it seems that extracting the .xz gives me the .tar. Extracting the tar gives me a message wanting to know if I wish to replace an one file with another. In retrospect, I should have paid more attention to this, as this sort of thing is never a good sign. Answering yes or no gives me the extracted contents of the .tgz I learned something from this. Thank you for your time and effort. |

Hi,
Does this plugin support the latest Kobo models, such as the Clara BW? I followed the instructions, but I am getting the error message "[FBInk] Unidentified Kobo device code (390)." |

And, also, the bundled binaries are currently slightly outdated, so you'll want to build fbink yourself until I manage to update all of this. |

How can I upgrade py-fbink? There don't seem to be any build instructions on GitHub. |

It's a "bit" of a PITA.
c.f., https://github.com/NiLuJe/FBInk/blob...i/fbink_decl.c (which isn't entirely up-to-date) Then mangle the output from ffi-cdecl into py-fbink's build.py, then build that in a cross-aware fashion (I'm using a patched distutilscross, because upstream is dead; but crossenv should work). I... wouldn't recommend attempting any of that unless you already have experience cross-compiling Python 3 modules, because it's an hilariously awful experience.
