This is a “heads up” to the users of this plugin.

A change to the DRM scheme for books in KFX format was included in this month’s Kindle for Android/Fire/iOS apps and will likely also be included in the next e-ink Kindle firmware (after 5.10.1.1) and the next release of the Kindle for PC and Mac apps (after 1.24.x).

It took years for the DeDRM plugin to support KFX. It may be a while before the new DRM is supported, if ever.

Without DRM removal this plugin will not function because all books delivered in KFX format have DRM, even those books that the publisher has requested to not have it.

If you want to import your books into calibre and have been putting it off it might be best to do it soon.

(This only applies to KFX format. The other kindle formats are not affected as far as I know.)
