The error you are seeing is expected in some cases. However, it only rarely results in available books not being properly detected. I should make the resulting message a bit clearer.
The plugin works by searching overdrive for books by the author's name (and simple variations of it) and then checking the results for the desired title(s). For some common names and prolific authors the results of searching by only the name exceeds Overdrive’s limit of 501 results per search. In that case the plugin falls back to searching by both the author and title, which is slower and does not work for some titles.
In your case the search for a book by C. E. Murphy caused the plugin to try searches under the names "ce murphy", "c e murphy", and "c murphy". Two of those searches had more than 501 results, which caused fallback to performing searches that included the title "origins" and which didn’t return any relevant results.
