I was very disappointed when I saw a number of e-books listed at above $9.99 in the iPad bookstore.

I really was hoping Apple would put pressure on publishers to achieve low price points, but obviously not. So at this point we have Amazon and a small number of independent stores pushing low prices, and everyone else seems to be towing the publishers line.

I'm sorry, I am not paying $10+ for an electronic book which I can't re-sell or lend like a paper book and which has DRM which restricts which of my devices I can read it on (DRM which turns my 'owned' book into a 'leased' book which the publisher can remove from my device at any point). It's a joke.
