Certainly. That's why I'd prefer to keep an international scope - not just limited to one language and/or country
By the way, you make me want to suggest "Seven Gothic Tales" by Karen Blixen (Isak Dinesen) for nomination. It's by a Danish author, but originally written and published in English.
There are wonderful classic books written in many different languages, but here we will have to nominate only the ones translated into English.
