Yes, but you won't get details about them here. As mentioned, MR policies don't allow posts/comments with links to sites that actively share copyrighted material without permission of the owners. (Among the people who don't object to such sites, there seems to be a belief that if you can't operate Google on your own, you don't deserve free ebooks.)
However, here at MR there are links to plenty of *legitimate* free ebook sources, like the
Baen Library and the
Fifth Imperium collection,
Project Gutenberg and
Feedbooks free original works and
Smashwords free ebooks, along with the
Patricia Clark Memorial Library here at Mobileread, containing free, legal ebooks carefully hand-formatted by people who care about ebooks. We've also got a
freebies & bargains forum that regularly features free promotional ebooks from authors & publishers along with various discounts.
If you love to read, an ereader would give you opportunities to read great books for free for the rest of your life, even without dipping into private filesharing sites. (And nobody's going to stop you from trying to find those; you just can't do it here.)
