Hello,

I'm wondering how does calibre library update metadata? does it need to have the books available? I would like to bring calibre library on a flash drive with me to check the books and maybe update the metadata if allowed, its because the flash drive is small, I wont be able to bring all the books.

I'm using the portable version of calibre and read somewhere about a way to separate the database and the library. will this work?
