Until now, I always created my collections manually using the GUI. I could have one book in several collections (like: Philosophy and Religion). This book then showed up both in the Philosophy and Religion category.

The user fields and columns got created by Kindle Collections, if I remember correctly (or I may have created it manually do not remember anymore). If I had a book in many collections, all the collections would be listed in that column, separated by a comma.

Now, that I have so many books, I started creating the collections by editing the user field directly in Calibre and then have that automatically applied. But now the "one book in multiple collections" has gone and instead the plugin created collections like

1. Philosophy
2. Religion
3. Philosophy,Religion

(so this is three collections now, but it should be two only)

What can I do to get the old behavior back, but still automatically use the user field approach?

Thank you.
