same problem for me with the oreilley book "c# in a nutshell". put the epub on the kobo and it hangs trying to process it. i used calibre to convert from epub to epub and it worked fine. The resulting .epub file was about 1/4 bigger though.
I will be sticking with oreilley from now on. This was only possible because of the lack of drm on the book.
